Super pretty canyon like echo that seems to go well with acoustic, clean, jazz, metal and post hardcore. I haven’t found a genre it doesn’t work with. Very dynamic and responsive and will sound different depending on pick attack. You can super smooth it out with a compressor in series before it. Lots of tone possibilities. It happened again. I was in love with the idea of this pedal. The YouTube videos sounded great. Once I got it, however, I couldn't get it to sound the same. The effect I wanted most - the freeze function - wasn't quite what I thought it would be, and the rest wasn't worth the price paid. Probably a great pedal for some. Not for me. It went back! But like most of the new guitar foot pedal effects out there, it's basically a repacking of a few traditional effects See Walrus Audio, EarthQuaker Devices, Catalinbread... In this case, the Tera Echo TE-2 is (delay + reverb), and puts them in one unit. Then they're spiced up, by giving them a few interesting parameters, and sold as a 'new' or 'different/unique' That being said, it's an interesting effect. Not a pedal for every day use, but absolutely fantastic for the desired effect.Love the sounds that I can create with this alone and in combination with my other effects... It creates different echo and resonance effects depending on how you are playing the strings...from brilliant chorus to scifi space echo effects... This is not a controllable delay like the DD7...but more of a flavored echo smart pedal that self-adapts and changes with your playing style...so you can leave all the settings the same and change the effect by changing the speed, impact, or type of pick on the strings... I'm pleased with the sounds I'm getting out of it...Great build qualityShimmer on the reverb was too intrusive. This pedal does one thing. If that is what you want, then fine. But the hold loop volume was far too quiet for my use. Needs more flexibility.I think that it ia a unique time-based effect. I love the artifacts that you get with the delay. Can't stop playing through this thing. So many different sounds you can get. Triple that with the different string attacks. Is it a Reverb? Is it a Delay? Yes and no. Saw a couple of videos and was intrigued enough to take a chance. Amazon had it for a very good price so I clicked. Very glad I did. It really does occupy a space between Reverb and Delay. It gives everything a lovely sheen. Build quality is superb and can run on Batteries (i do a lot of Alfresco) if you are after a traditional Delay this is not it, but if you're in the market for Spacey loveliness this could be you. Build quality is superb and the four control knobs are deceptively versatile. Tiny adjustments yielding big results. Oh and its in white, I like my Toys in White. An absoloute classic. I have owned many boss products and also sold over the years. this is by far one of the best going! Set too become iconic!! Anything from a shimmering like chrous effect too a full on acid trip out in space. Extremley versatile and an abundance of sound creativity. As for quality Boss is Boss and no gripes on this front other then i paid £26 more then i should of having seen it reduce 12 hours later but thats just sods law i won’t be slating the product....... just buy one.Absolutely love this pedal and had been looking for a decent echo for a while. I have it between my delay and reverb in the signal chain and can use it to get some great ambient sounds with all three on and a bit of tremolo on the clean guitar sound.I have owned and subsequently sold lots of effects pedals in the twenty five years I have been playing guitar. This one stands out as amongst the very best I have ever owned. The effect is unique, adding subtle ambience right up to whacked out sci fi craziness. Outstanding.Another classic pedal from boss, you can get some amazing sounds and effects out of this pedal, you really need to play around and experiment with other pedals in the loop to realise it's full potential, highly recommend, 5\5*
