It’s heavyPurchased a 9ft 10wt over a year ago. I never write reviews right away.This has been a good rod, it was bought so I could run two 10wt setups at once, floating or intermediate on one and sinking on the other. It has been used mostly for stripers and other saltwater fishing. I find the 10wt useful for throwing big heavy baitfish patterns through the wind even if the fish often could be fought on a 7wt.It is pretty fast, not as fast as my Sage 10wt, but I like it a lot with a Rio coastal quickshooter XP,it can bomb it into the backing with only a few false casts and a double haul. I have fished this setup both in the surf/off of jetties and groins and from a boat.The very first time I took this rod out I broke the 3rd section pulling line through the guides to make my first cast.I called Echo and talked to Tyler who shipped me a new section priority as I was on a week long trip. I haven't had a problem since, very good customer service.I've owned other Echo products and will continue to buy them, they are a very good value in the often over priced fly fishing world.Very well manufacturing fly rod. Great price and has a warranty. Meets my physical inspection. I will be testing the rod out next weeks on large mouth bass. Can’t give it an extra star till then.Excellent feelUsed this rod for bone fishing in Belize, last minute purchase to have an extra rod. Turns out I used it exclusively! Great in the wind and enough backbone to make long casts. Very pleased with its performance. Only wish I could have hooked a permit with it. For the money I give it 5 stars!Was suggested this rod for an entry level musky fly rod and this thing delivers. For the price point you cannot go wrong! Great rod to keep as a back up or even a main rod!Hard to beat this price for a rod that performs so well. Fast action, casts larger flies like a dream, and gets fish landed quick for a clean release. Highly recommendOutstanding rod. Plenty of backbone to easily handle 15lb Salmon. Highly recommend this rod. Affordable!
