Description
The easy-to-use VHT Echo-Verb is the world's only delay and reverb pedal with two completely independent sections. The delay section is completely analog, it features a Decay control that simulates a vintage tape echo machine's high-frequency roll-off; the Decay control can adjust the repeats from crystal-clear to dark and mellow. The reverb section is also completely independent, with Dwell, Tone and Mix controls. The reverb is digital (the only way possible in a compact pedal), but it's mixed in parallel with the analog signal path, so only the reverb effect itself is processed by digital circuitry. Each section has completely independent true-bypass switching.

At this price, from a brand such as VHT, I was expecting a much higher quality, a better sounding pedal. The quality control is lacking. When I received the pedal, the input jack nut was unscrewed and the jack was so loose I couldn't plug in my guitar cable. Once I fixed that and tried to set all the knobs to 12 o' clock, I found that they were all inconsistent in their rotation smoothness, and the force required to turn each one. Some were so tight it felt like they would break as I turned them. Now, on to the sound... the reverb sounds "ok" but has that cheap echoey sound in the background. The tone knob is useless as it also affects the volume of the reverb when adjusted. High tone settings cause the reverb to be very loud and way too bright. So bright that is breaks up and distorts like crazy. When the tone is at its lowest setting, it is almost inaudible. The best reverb tone is achieved at about 12 o'clock but then the mix doesn't seem to be able get make it loud enough for those situations where you want to drench your sound. Overall, the controls just don't do what you expect them to do. I would like to write a review of the delay section but unfortunately, on the pedal I received, the delay did not work at all. It would turn on and light up but would do nothing but make this awful squeaking sound. I switched power supplies (it does not come with one) and tried again. It still squealed but I was able to hear a muffled, distorted echo in the distance. It was completely useless. Needless to say, I returned it. As always, Amazon is easy to deal and issued a refund right away. So there you have it. DO NOT buy this pedal! I wanted it to be great... but it was an enormous disappointment.i bought this thing from my local music show, it seemed like a great idea and when i tried it out in the shop it seemed pretty good. Then after 4 days it deteriorated and the sound got duller and duller till it stopped working completely. its made really poorly in spite of looking pretty solid it's just Chinese parts built terribly. but heres a review of before it broke down, maybe someone else has better luck with it.First is the Delay setting: whimpy, and that's not necessarily a bad thing, i have enough delays that i can make crazy feedback and go nuts with noise. this one stays nice and safe, i appreciate that even with the repeats and feedback all the way up it doesnt go on forever. It stays tame and makes for a nice subtle delay for solos and such. I didnt really buy this for the delay setting however(if you want a good delay spend the money and get a Caroline Kylobyte or the Moog Delay)THE REVERB! dang when i tried this at the store the reverb setting sold me. its got that RV-5 modulation sound when you bump the Dwell and Mix knobs to 10. you can get a real sweet My Bloody Valentine sound if you put this after a fuzz pedal(add a chorus in there and itll get really shoegaze) it's a great reverb, but when paired with the boring delay setting it just seems pointless to have on a boardi should also mention if you kick both the delay and reverb setting on at the same time it sounds like staticey garbage, it completely freaks out and doesnt do either very well. i got this pedal for $60 so i couldnt complain to much and my local shop took it back when i showed the how incredibly defective this thing was. save your money and get and RV-5 and a Kilobyte, ignore this pedal.I was expecting much better. The quality of mine felt ok, knobs and jacks were tight and metal casing felt fine. Then I plugged it in.Just turning on the delay bumped the level on the signal, there’s no way to turn it down it’s just loud. The time knob was almost useless unless all the way up the others had little effect. If all were cranked I could tolerate the subtle echo effect but it screwed up the overall level and created too much feedback. The reverb was barely there. I had to crank it all to hear anything and the tone knob made everything way too harsh and broken up on the reverb and harmonics. It all seemed to kill the tone and create a bunch of noise.I want to like VHT but this is useless to meNot work properly. I do not recommend it.
