This is great for lower back supportI am able to stay on kayak much longer now. I have a bad back and the OEM seat was killing me. I feel like I can go so much longer and feel comfortable doing it. The fishing pole holders was a bonusI was on a mission this summer to get the most comfortable/easy to maneuver kayak, seat, and paddle. I obviously made a wrong decision! This is too bulky for me, even though it has the VERY comfortable Skwoosh seat. I am now using just the Skwoosh seat cushion and LOVING it! I continue to use my life jacket as a back rest.I received the Skwoosh Big Catch High Back Kayak Seat with Lumbar as a gift from my son & wife. I gotta say they did a great job selecting a kayak seat; especially given the fact that they’re not avid kayak enthusiast. I just installed this seat in my 2003 Wilderness System Pungo Classic. Interesting note: The Pungo is a “seat in” style kayak; this seat is designed for a “seat on tops” kayaks. However with some good old fashion American ingenuity, I easily installed the seat without much trouble at all. I used four nylon deck loops as anchor points.A well-constructed kayak seat packed full of features.1) The Skwoosh butt cushion support “Tekpad” is the big appeal for this seat. The strong stitching and durable nylon fabric.6) Adjustable straps feature brass thumb hitch clevis “like a dog’s leash”.Skip the cheap seats and spend the extra dough!I wanted to like this seat, but the bottom kept sliding forward, causing the back to lean backward. The rod holders are just sloppily cut pvc dropped into loose fitting pouches that flop around freely. Although the seat has a soft get inside, I can't imagine that it's thick enough to offer much comfort on a long outing. Finally, the back is just high enough to be really uncomfortable with a high back kayak safety vest on. I'll keep looking for a winner....this just isn't it.
