I like this shoe but it is not best for the rocky/dirt roads where I typically walk as the tread is not at all aggressive. Seems well made but haven't owned/used long enough yet to truly rate.I own over a dozen pairs of Ryka shoes, so I am definitely a fan. However, these particular shoes were terribly uncomfortable! There is barely any cushion in the footbed, nothing like my Ryka Ultimate running shoes which feel like clouds on my feet. The area around the ankle was quite stiff and rubbed my ankle in the 30 seconds I wore them around the house to try on. The tread seemed to have decent grip on a tile floor, but I can't see it holding up well on rocky surfaces as flat as it is. I sent them back and will continue searching for the perfect hiking shoe, because these definitely are not it.These boots are great for keeping my feet dry while riding in zodiacs and kayaks up in Alaska. They are very light weight for travel and super comfortable.I tried three sizes of this shoe to make sure I got the right fit, and I went on a short walk and they were okay. Then I went on a hike, and something about the way they broke in caused the top of the shoe to be bending into the top of my foot and it was SO painful. Wish I could return them, but they were quite dirty after that hike and I didn’t have the heart to send them back in that condition. So, I thought for sure I finally solved my wet feet problem. I didn't want to wear rainboots, so these were perfect, right? They fit my feet and kept them dry- granted they are slick on some wet floors. I've worn them for the past week while working. I noticed the spot the shoes touched on my skin is broke out (see picture). Even my toe is broke out. (Yes I wore socks, so no idea what the problem is.) I've never broke out to shoes, clothes, latex or otherwise. I'm so disappointed. Another waste of money on shoes that don't work.Going on my first backpack trip I needed a pair of hiking shoes. Got these a couple days ago and thought I should break them in. I wore them all day yesterday with no issues at all. I have wide feet and have trouble finding comfortable shoes. These are absolutely amazing hiking shoes. They are good ankle support without being to tall, almost sneaker hight. They have excellent arch support and they are waterproof. I am already in love with these. They are also lightweight. I purchased my normal size and they fit normal hiking socks. Don’t hesitate to purchase them.Nice boots. Wished they fit. Couldn’t really assess features as they were too big. Ordered my normal running sneaker size.
