Be sure to give lots of praise and treats as they get used to walking back and forth on the ramp. Once the dog is comfortable with the ramp, adjust it to its upright position. Continue to give treats as motivation for your dogs. With the dog on the couch, call the dog and they should use the easiest and most convenient route, which is down the ramp and towards you. Once the dog is using the ramp reliably, you can move further away and continue. Remember to give lots of praise and before long your dog will be able to climb the ramp on it own.

I have a high bed and it’s impossible for one of my boys to jump that high. I had a set of dog stairs but it is was too steep and the steps too narrow for the dogs to maneuver. I decided to try this dog ramp. Things to think about:1. Rails that can be placed easily on either side (dowel rods you don’t have to screw in) for safety2. Secure adjustable height (locks in place with 5 different height options)3. Folds for storage which can be placed under bed4. Less steep runway compared to steps5. NOT non-slip. My dogs slid down the ramp. The carpet doesn’t provide enough traction. I added floor cord covers every 10 inches on the ramp I hoped would solve the issue. I used adhesive velcro (hook side) on a low-profile PVC floor cord cover and cut to fit. This made it easier for dogs but it’s not a perfect solution. Dogs still slide in between the bars.Even with my little improvement, not sure I’ll be able to keep. The dogs keep sliding and they don’t feel comfortable on the ramp. Really wished they had used something other than profile carpet on the ramp.
