The high skill, loving care and pride with which these chairs were made is obvious at every stage.First, the packaging was impeccable, exact, and consistent. Parts were secure, though only 4 nut/bolt pairs per chair. There was no way these chairs would take any damage en route to my home.Second, assembly was effortless, although someone who doesn't know how to affix a nut/bolt over a joint might benefit from directions. I always check all the pre-assembled connections when possible, but unlike stuff from other countries of origin that I have assembled, these were already tight and completely solid.Third, these chairs are beautiful--artful even--with a unique bowl-legged shape on the bottom that is reminiscent of an old cowboy, topped with a slender narrowing from shoulders to waist. Nothing you can't see in the pictures on the item description. I feel this makes them have a unique look. The colors (we got naked maple seats) are gorgeous and consistent across every square inch and among the 4 chairs we purchased.Fourth, in terms of use, I've sat in them long enough to determine that I won't have to cover the pretty maple seats up with cushions for comfort, probably owing to the ample seat size and ergonomic shape. Also, the legs are precisely level on our brand-new home's floors, lending a great sense of stability. Further, they slide with just the right amount of friction, easily, but not unless you mean to move them (and those plastic feet look like they'll stay for the long haul). Similarly, the swivel has the same amount of resistance, just enough such that it only turns when you intentionally turn it.I'm 100% pleased--tickled, even--with these chairs. To boot, I'm amazed at the affordable price. I may get a couple more if I decide I need more seating around my counter-height table.
