One-year update: I still think it is the best I have ever tried, but I wish it were a tad thicker. When parked, extreme heat from the windshield will soften lots of foam if you live in a hot climate like I do in South Florida. It will harden up a bit on a cool day, and I will immediately notice the improvement. The game changer was the product's design, it supported my mid back, unlike most that forced or arched my lower back forward with no upper back support. Put a cushion in your mid back and see if that helps you. I had no idea it would. It still works great and has not deteriorated at all. It is overpriced, but it works for me . Read my original post below for more infoOriginal Post:I am in my late 40s, but because of my lower back pain, driving had become so painful and uncomfortable that I would not drive more than a few miles, even with a large variety of lumbar cushions. I have tried so many back and seat cushions on Amazon and elsewhere that I could open a store with all my rejects. Most are cheap, with thin memory foam and that does nothing. I was always driving and adjusting them and the seat nonstop, trying to find a few minutes of comfort. I saw this item and felt it was worth a shot because I had never tried one with this design or spent that much. It is important to know that when it arrived, I had just upgraded my Toyota Corolla, which had a low bucket seat, to an SUV with higher and flatter seats. I don't know if this would have worked for me as well or at all in a compact car. However, my old cushions were still useless after a few minutes. When it arrived, I was very disappointed because it was thin and wimpy, but amazingly, it somehow aligned my back perfectly. I was comfortable for the first time in years and was OVERJOYED! , I told all my doctors to try it and recommend it. Maybe it's just right for me, but I strongly recommend trying it and returning it in 30 days if it is not for you. I had to work a lot to get it just right on the back of my seat. If it is an itch too low or high, it does nothing for me.
