While I have read every book in the series, some of them three times, this is my first review.About this book specifically, it wraps up all the loose-ends of the multitude of personal relationships that have been going on. Kind of like taking a breather from all the rollicking action of the previous two volumes.Generally, what I like about Jennsen's series:1. Great character development as well as decent science. The standard, male-written books have cardboard characters just filling up space in-between battles, or what-not.2. Enemies become allies and friends. I wonder how it is going to work out with the Rasu - there is a hint or two...3. It is written from a positive point of view; particularly with AI or SAI. SAI are our friends. It is really interesting how Jennsen develops SAI, as opposed to NY Times award winning author, Douglas Richards' rendition. Jennsen awakens hers in a nurturing, caring environment and achieves a wonderful symbiosis. Richards' awakens his in a distrustful, threatening environment and creates a monster - like, "Duh!" But that is how 'guys' think - like, rape the earth and show how 'alpha-manly' you are.4. And, of course, the women's empowerment is great.5. And the sex is fun. There are two other authors that I find somewhat equivalent to Jennsen; but not nearly as prolific. Most of the rest pale in comparison.
