HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR CHAIN SIZE Chainsaws can be equipped with different guide bars. When selecting a chain for your chainsaw, in addition to the model and length, make sure that the pitch, gauge and number of drive links are correct. You can usually find them on the guide bar side stamp or in the owner's manual. In addition, you are more than welcome to contact KAKEI Customer Support on Amazon with your chainsaw/guide bar part number and we are always ready to help you. Disengage the chain brake 2. Loosen the bar nuts 3. Lift the tip of the guide bar 4. Tighten the tensioning screw until the chain sits snugly against the bottom rail of the bar without slack and still rotates freely 5. Re-tighten the bar nuts How to reduce the risk of kickback? If you are not experienced with chainsaws, use a low kickback chain (ANSI standard). Also, never saw using the "kickback danger zone" on the guide bar (the top of the bar tip); use the underside of the bar instead. What is ANSI? The safety standard "B175.1" set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), which outlines requirements for gasoline-powered chainsaws (chains), including provisions designed to reduce the risk of kickback injuries when cutting wood. How often should chainsaws be lubricated? Should I use a special lubricant for chainsaws? - Fill the reservoir with lubricant every refueling and ensure the lubricant is properly delivered to the chain during operation. Improper lubrication can cause excessive wear, reduce cutting efficiency and increase the risk of chainsaw damage - Yes Full Chisel vs Semi-Chisel Chain – What's the difference? Full chisel: sharper and cuts faster, but tends to dull when it encounters dirt and is prone to kickback. Semi-chisel: cuts slower than full chisel, but stays sharp longer, suitable in dirty environments.
