The chair arrived with no damage, and is quite heavy. The entire frame of the chair is made out of metal, the only plastic parts are the wheels and gas piston cover. The pieces fit well together, the people who struggled are not doing it properly.The chair comes completely disassembled. The part where your butt sits is separate from the back of the chair. They connect with an L shaped metal brace on the back. IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO DO THIS BEFORE YOU ATTACH THE ARMRESTS. If you create a rigid structure and force the other armrests to fit, then you're forcing a rigid structure to bend to your will. It's like trying to close a zipper with stuff still hanging out of the bag. Once you attach the arm rests to the 2 seat parts first, THEN you attach the support bracket on the back of the chair.This leads to the 2nd wave of problems. The brace fits under the part where you screw in the bottom of the chair hardware. It is important that the brace is UNDER the mount. You might be asking well that's a no brainer if you read the manual.THERE IS NO MANUAL.It's literally the screws, and the chair. That's all you get. Every single bolt has the same diameter, just different length. You will be spending an extra 30 minutes screwing and unscrewing bolts to learn which one is supposed to go where.Completely stupid. Whoever works in quality control needs to be retrained and make sure each unit ships with instructions.Once you sacrifice about an hour of trial and error, the chair IS nice. It is very comfortable. I don't know what people are talking about needing new wheels. Mine are fine and glide across my wood floors easily. The fabric and cushion has that weird new couch smell for about a week. I sprayed mine with febreze and left a charcoal bag on it while I was at work. It no longer smells.This is literally a "you get what you pay for" chair. The materials are nice, but there's always a damn trade off with these things. This one is you have to figure out how to put it together your self.
