I got a PAS-225 a couple of years ago and had built up a collection of attachments. The straight shaft trimmer, curved shaft edger, blower, and "power pruner" pole saw. This spring I decided to add this hedge clipper attachment to the corral, replacing an old electric clipper I've used for years.Like every Echo attachment in comparison to an electric equivalent, the difference is night and day. This is in a whole other class. Nips through hedges with ease, including branches much larger than the electric one could handle. The long blade has great reach. Combined, it allows you to trim with fewer passes.Like the other attachments in the PAS series, swapout is tooless and a breeze. Build quality is high. The PAS-225 is powerful enough to run it.Downsides - it's got some heft to it, as do all of the PAS series. And, like the pole saw, for safety purposes you should remove the trimmer handle when using this attachment, adding some conversion steps. The blade position on this one is fixed; there is also an articulating model but the price upcharge is very expensive, would need it to be a must-have to justify it, and for me it is not.But recently Echo released another fixed-blade model (99944200640) after I had bought this one. Apparently the only difference is the shaft is shorter, making it a more compact configuration; the blade is the same. For me, if I was making this purchase now, the shorter one would probably be better suited for my needs. For you, you'd need to evaluate what sort of reach you will need to decide which would be best for you.
