The use of spreading bars on hammocks it's said to be original from the Ecuador, it has been widely spread and accepted in North America. This kind of hammock is known in the Mayan region as Hamaca Americana (American Hammock). The American Hammock is 100% handwoven with thick nylon or cotton thread.

With your purchase we also send you a pair of extension ropes and an instruction manual with all the information that you need to properly use your hammock.

*The lenght of the hammock is 12.7ft (3.9m) long. *The width of the wooden rod is 3.9ft (1.2m) long. *About the weight that the hammock can carry, we don't recommend to put more than 510lb (230 kilos) in it.

* Important if you are going to hang it in a hammock stand, the stand must have 13 to 15 feet (4 to 4.5m) between the hanging points, DO NOT use it in small stands where the arms (ends of thread between the body of the hammock and the ring) bend to hang, since it could break the threads of the arm.
